Hubby's Valentine

It's that time of year again - time to make a Valentine's card that I like, but that is masculine enough to give my husband. I've chucked some flowers in here - but he's a gardener, so I reckon I can get away with it. Thanks to Sunday Stamps Challenge 249 and As You See It Challenge 242 for getting me started!

There's quite a bit going on in this card that I'm not sure will photograph well - I hope it doesn't just looked like I slapped some Very Vanilla together! 😀 I embossed the heart and the card front with different folders, and also cut one sentiment frame into another.

Here's the card:

Ingredients:
Stampin' Up! ink (Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon Cider), card (Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler), stamps (Awesomely Artistic, Petal Palette), dies (Tasteful Labels), embossing folders (Hammered Metal, Subtle) Hearts punches, Cherry Cobbler watercolour pencil.
Other products: francheville rhinestones.

Valentine's Card

Thank goodness for the Card Concept's "Love is in the Air" #108 and Sunday Stamps SSC198 lovely sketch, both of which arrived in time for me to make a Valentine's Day card for my husband. I ended up making two colourways, and liked both. (With any luck, he won't remember the card and I can give him the other one next year!)
I'd call the card clean and layered: a stripped back version of the sketch, in which I responded to the colours and clean lines of Card Concept's photo inspiration.

Ingredients:
Stampin' Up! card (Whisper White, Merry Merlot, Crumb Cake, Basic Black), white embossing powder, stamp (Sure Do Love You), dies (Lots to Love Box Framelits), enamel shapes, Corrugated embossing folder.
Other: white kitchen string

Masculine Valentine

I loved Time Out's photo inspiration #102, and combined it with SUO's invitation in challenge #193 to use 'hearts a'plenty' to make a card for my husband for Valentine's Day. I hope he'll like the bold composition and colours (or at least will be too polite to say if he doesn't!)
The card:

Made using:
Stampin' Up paper (Cajun Crazy, Gold, Basic Black and Pop of Pink dsp) ink (Basic Black), dies (Sweet and Sassy, Celebrate You), enamel hearts and stamp (Thoughtful Banners for 'love')

Romantic Roses

For The Card Concept's challenge #76 (Romantic Roses), I made a clean and layered card. My response was a fairly literal take on the inspiration photo - well, what better than a bunch of red roses? - although I'm using the peony roses from Stampin' Up's new Beautiful Bouquet suite. Here's the photo:

and my card - I used the embossed panel to try to capture the texture of the shutters, and black glitter card for the wrapping for a bit of bling.

Made using:
Stampin' Up products:
Beautiful Bouquet stamps and dies; Stitched Shapes framelits
Whisper White paper
Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Garden Green and Basic Black ink
Christmas embossing folder
Other products:
Craftwise metallic twine, Rosie's glitter cardstock

Balloon Sunset

I used the opportunity of the double challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches (#208) to have my first play withe the Stampin; Up 'Lift Me Up' stamps and 'Up & Away' dies. Fun! I've rotated the sketch and been a little liberal in my interpretation - hope that's okay. I also had to go with the closest colours I have, since my card habit post

dates the colours in the sketch.

Made using
Stampin; Up 'Lift Me Up' stamps and 'Up & Away' dies; Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango and Peekaboo Peach papers; Mint Macaron and Tangerine Tango Ink,
