Apples!

The theme this week for The Paper Players was... Apples (and Clean and Simple). Luckily, I read some of the designer's blogs, because it wasn't till I read Jan Clothier's that I remembered that I, too had the Thoughtful Branches apple - and like her, that was the only apple in my collection!
The card started out super clean and simple, but then I had a workplace (well, craftplace!) injury - caught my finger on the paper cutter - and bled all over one edge of the card. Rather than start again, I made a frame for the un-bled-on bit - I hope it's still clean and simple enough!
The card:

Ingredients
Stampin' Up card (Whisper White, Night Of Navy) ink (Nigh of Navy, Basic Black, Granny Apple Green, Real Red), stamps (Thoughtful Branches, Swirly Frames, Itty Bitty Greetings), MFT stamp and dies (Kitschy Kitchen)

Birthday Tea

It's a while since I made a card for a competition - summer break and all that. This card uses Fab Friday's #128: (Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist and Emerald Envy) and CAS Colours and Sketches #254:
as inspiration. I was also responding to my daughter's request for a card that referenced tea! Here's the card:
Made using:
Stampin' Up inks: Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Emerald Envy, Stamp for sentiment (Big on Birthdays) and card: Whisper White heavy card
My Favourite Things stampset and dies: Kitschy Kitchen
Kaisercraft paper (for shelf) Oh So Lovely

Chalkboard baking

This card, for Fusion's 'Chalkboard Baking' Challenge, was fun to make - it forced me out of my comfort zone. It's funny - it never occurs to me to use grey on a card, but when I'm invited to in a challenge, I always like doing so.
I recently bought white ink, and the main challenge for this card was cleaning it up - it goes EVERYWHERE!
Here's the challenge:
and here's my card:

Lots of different products went into creating this card, despite its simplicity.
Made Using:
Stampin' Up ink: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Real Red, Daffodil Delight
Stampin' Up Paper: Crushed Curry, Basic Grey
Stampin' Up stampset -  Postage Collection and enamel dots - brights
Other Products: papercraft stampset: Alphabet Reverse, My Favourite Things stampset and dies: Kitschy Kitchen.

Birthday Bouquet

Goodness - it feels like a long time since I've posted here, but it's only been a couple of weeks. Funny how, when you go away for a holiday, it seems to make your 'normal' life seem so distant. Anyway, when I came back and saw the colours at CAS Colours and Sketches this week, I knew I had to enter - I just loved them:
Added impetus was provided by Less is More's invitation to use a frame. I'd been wanting to try something a friend and I had discussed - using a square framelit to make a rectangular frame.
This is the card I ended up with:
Made using:
Paper: Stampin' Up's Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Stampin' Up's Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Stamp: My Favourite Things' Kitschy Kitchen
Dies: Stampin' Up's Stitched Shapes, My Favourite Things' Kitschy Kitchen and I'm not sure which bit of the last one is the name - so - Sizzix/Drop-ins/Stephanie Barnard's Celebrate Sentiments.
