Non-gendered baby card

A very short blog, just to show my response to two challenges: Just Add Ink's #499 (a colour challenge: Blushing Bride, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue, and The Paper Players' PP485-A Day at the Zoo. My day at the zoo was clearly spent in the petting zoo or shop, since these little elephants are definitely cute rather than realistic.
(Now I'll have to go back to my cousin's fb page, where he's driving me mad with maths puzzles.)
Here's the card:

Ingredients:
Stampin' Up! card (Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy), ink, (Blushing Bride, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Highland Heather), Little Elephant stampset, Elephant punch, Glitter, Glitter glue

Funky!

What a cool key word from CASOLOGY for Week 334: Funky. By a happy chance, I'd just received the Four Seasons DSP from Stampin' Up, and the 'B-side' (that dates me, and anyone who remembers singles records!) is in undeniably 'funky' patterns - so I was off to a good start. For the flower, I used the flower bulb from Making Every Day Bright as petals. I completed the with a fun font and inside sentiment.

Ingredients:
Stampin' Up! card (Shimmery White, Basic Black) DSP (Four Seasons), stamps (Making Every Day Bright, Sassy Salutations, Party Pants), stampin' write marker (Tangelo Twist) ink (Basic Black)
Other products: francheville faceted jewel, American Crafts black glittered embossing powder.

Bouquets

Two pretty challenges inspired me this week: CASOLOGY's Week 330: Bouquet, and Fusion's 'Tea and Bouquet's'.  I don't feel I use my 'Time for Tea' suite enough, so I leapt at the chance.
the card:

Ingredients: Stampin' Up! card (Whisper White, thick Whisper White) ink (Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Granny Apple Green) water colour pencil (Cherry Cobbler), stamp sets (Time for Tea, Itty Bitty Greetings, dies (Spot of Tea, Squares) and punch (Detailed Trio)

Bright for a Baby

For this cheerful baby card, I combined a sketch from CAS Colors and Sketches, colours from Color Throwdown and choices of embossing, patterned paper and baby from Retro Rubber's 'X's and O's' challenge. The elephant and sentiment are from Stamoin' Up's 'Zoo Babies' set, which I first noticed in the 2015 - 2016 catalogue. I like that the result is a bright, welcoming card for a new baby. I've also used two of the lovely new in-season colours from Stampin' Up: Call me Clover and Blueberry Bushel.

Ingredients:
Stampin' Up ink (Basic Black, Call Me Clover), card (Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel), stampset (Zoo Babies), enamel shapes, embossing folder, Pop of Pink dsp.
Other Products: Semco everyday ribbon.

60th Wedding Anniversary card

I loved the colours in the latest CAS Colours and Sketches challenge (#248) - Emerald Envy, Tranquil Tide and  Metallic Silver - and they provided the basis for my thinking about a 60th wedding anniversary card for an uncle and aunt. (His brother and wife have the same anniversary this year, so I'll be making another one soon!) The metallic silver went nicely, I thought, with the 'diamond' anniversary, but I added a few diamonds (well, diamantes, but they still look good!) to keep the card appropriate for the celebration.
Here's the card:

Made Using:
Stampin' Up Products: Emerald Envy and Tranquil Tide ink and paper, Sky is the Limit stampset (for sentiment)
francheville diamantes
Kaisercraft Numbers Decorative Dies, Flutter clear stamps
Silver craft paper

Rainbow Flowers

I tired a few different ideas for the lovely sketch from Less is More this week (#334), but in the end settled on keeping it really CAS by using my favourite little punch to make a rainbow of flowers. Here's the card:

Made using: ek tiny petal punch, Stampin' Up card (Whisper White, Wisteria wonder, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Rose Red), Francheville rhinestones, Stampin' Up's Thoughtful Banners (sentiment) and some random purple card left over from my daughter's school days.

Butterfly Congratulations

This card is a response to two challenges: The Paper Players' PP345: Butterflies and Fab Friday's Colour Challenge 112:
I wanted to make the butterflies 'fly' so let their wings lift off the coral background. It's the first time I found a use for the Stampin' Up enamel shapes (other than the dots) so that was an added benefit.

Made Using:
Stampin' Up ink: Calypso Coral, Rich Razzleberry and Dapper Denim; paper: Calypso Coral and Dapper Denim; enamel dots and Vertical Greeting stamp (sentiment)
Diamond Press stamp and dies: 'enjoy the ride'

Balloon Congratulations

The lovely crisp colours of Global Design Project's GDP#073:
leant themselves to a crisp, simple design. I found such a design in CAS(E) this Sketch's #208:
I absolutely love the clouds in Stampin' Up's Lift Me Up stamp set, so took the cloud in the sketch literally. I returned to an old favourite, Balloon Celebration, for the balloons, and used a New Zealand koru pattern to emboss. I ended up sponging ink onto white card for the balloons to get the right depth of colour, and I heat embossed the sentiment in black just to add an extra crispness.

Made Using:
Stampin' Up: Whisper White and Basic Black Paper: Lift Me Up and Balloon Celebration stamp sets, baker's twine, Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Emerald Envy inks.
Craft Creations: New Zealand koru embossing folder
American Crafts: Black glitter finish embossing powder.

Rainbow Congratulations

I suggest that it's impossible to make a rainbow card and not feel happy while you do it. In fact, it puts me in mind of the firefly verse:
I'd love to be a firefly
Cos fireflies have more fun:
How can you be grumpy
When the sun shines out your bum?
Here's the card that came from my happy place:

For it, I combined three challenges: The Paper Players PP314:

Can You Case It?'s CYCI#139, with the challenge 'Rainbows of Colour', and Less is More's 'Recipe' Challenge: Thread. Here's a close up of the 'thread' - I used jute thread and a stitched border die on the strips of card that make up the rainbow. I love those Stampin' Up candy dots on the flowers - such a pity they retired them - I'm glad I have a little stockpile, but it's running out fast.

Made using:
Paper: Stampin' Up's Rose Red, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Wisteria Wonder, Very Vanilla and Pretty Petals DSP. Also a random strip of purple from an unidentifiable source!
Other: Memento Basic Black Ink, American Crafts jute  spools, ek tools mini petal punch, Stampin' Up's Thoughtful Banners stamps and punch, Kaiser Craft's stitched border diea.
